If you are among those frustrated surfer that got the Starware on your browser by accident and are unable to remove it, here is a step by step approach to get rid of starware that you can try.

As Starware is a program that may install itself when you activated certain freebies that you’ve downloaded from the web, it would normally be installed under the program folder of your C drive. Therefore, the Starware program could be found and remove from the Windows control panel. Here’s the step by step Starware removal instruction:

For Windows user only – the Starware removal steps below can be executed on all windows based PC. The name of the button might slightly differ depending on the version of Windows that you’re using but generally, it works for all windows edition.

  1. Click on the Windows “Start” button and click on “Control Panel”.
  2. From the “Control Panel” window you’ll find a lot of icons. Look for the “Add/Remove Programs” icon and double click on it
  3. It will take some time for Windows to populate all programs installed in your computer. Once it is fully loaded, go down the list and search for the Starware program.
  4. Click on the Starware program to select it, and then click the “Add/Remove” or “Change/Remove” button located at the right bottom of the selected program.
  5. To complete the removal process, simply follow the instructions in the wizard screen that comes up.

Once you’ve done, you will need to reboot your computer and go back to the “Add/Remove Programs” to check whether the Starware program is still present. In most cases, it won’t but if you accidentally activated some programs that may still have the Starware traces within them, the Starware may reinstalled by itself.Basically, you can use the same steps above to remove any unwanted programs on your computer. And unless the programs were not listed, it could be removed. However, please bear in mind that the above Starware removal steps will not be able to completely clean all Starware traces on your computer like the registry files, DLL files and certain exe. files.

Never try to delete those files or folders (registry, DLL, exe) by yourself unless you are very sure that those file or folders are not shared by other programs, otherwise, all those other programs may not work properly. It is recommended that you use a reliable Spyware removal programs that removes not only Starware but all other Spyware, adware and viruses safely from your computer without risking of damaging your computer instead.
